Here is how I stumbled upon computer forensics niche. Me and my business partner run a small domain business. Basically, we check for popular books or products sold through Amazon or eBay and see if domains for these products are registered or not.

Last week we bought a domain for a book called Break No Bones. It’s great book about a forensic archeologist and a series of mysterious occurrences that happen to him, after he uncovers some ancient bones. I won’t give away the plot, just take my word for it - get this book from a book store or a library, you won’t regret.

Anyhow for a while Google displayed no ads on the site (this happens when domain is new) but then it started displaying ads related to forensics. Now, when you buy a domain, you expect to make some money from the type-in traffic and the ads, but I was shocked to find out that these forensics clicks were worth over 70 cents. I was onto something, so I stared my own forensic investigation of the niche of forensics.

I’ve divided forensics into several subniches and did some testing. Computer forensics kicks ass, it’s extraordinary niche with no MFA sites whatsoever. My tests of this niche are in the very early stages, but if the average CPC holds up, computer forensics is likely to join my ***** lists, i.e. the niches that make over $1 per click on average.

If you do some testing of computer forensics and report your results to me, I’d very much appreciate that. Meanwhile, I’m back to reading another Kathy Reichs book.

In order not to violate Google TOS, I rate niches with my own star system. ** - $0.20-$0.30 per click average, *** - $0.30-$0.50 per click average, **** - $0.50-$0.70 per click average, ***** - $0.70-$1.20 per click average. While I don’t mind sharing information on ***** niches, I don’t make this information publicly available because it would quickly kill these niches or get Google pissed off at me.

All AdSense niches were tested by me personally and your results shouldn’t be very different, unless your account was smart-priced, too much time passed since my testing, MFA got a hold of the niche or your site or traffic source sucks big time.

How do you test?

I was wondering how do you get to the data you are talking about... do you click on your own ads?

Maybe you should write a little more about your testing methods... or did you already?
