My name is Dmitri Davydov and I am an avid ‘niche collector’. Seriously, I love niches. I first got interested in AdSense niches couple years ago, when I accidentally found out that you can make either $0.02 or $2.42 per click. The difference? Topic of your article. Basically, I post off the wall articles on a variety of different topics (MBA preparation, veneer logs, dog training, transgender issues, car donations) and track how well they do with AdSense in terms of per click averages. And I make my observations available to you, free of charge. I also collect stories about unusual online and offline businesses that you can read. Finally, there is a marketing section at this website, where you can find various tricks that can quickly double or quadruple your revenue. In addition to that, you are free to contribute your own tips, ideas and articles to NicheGeek.Com.

Buy Stocks, Online Brokers - *** Niche

Online stock trading is a big business and don’t let low online broker fees fool you. While the day trading craze of the dot com era is over, I am happy to report that investment and stock trading niches do alright with AdSense.

Most of the clicks I get from my investment related websites fall in between 30 and 50 cents per click on average. However, I’m convinced that if I spend more time investigating this niche, I’ll be able to find subniches that pay well above the average.

I’m currently playing around with two investment niches – 401K and IRA rollover, which tend to be on the higher end of earnings. I plan to check out options and precious metals investments to see if these do any better.

After buying their first home, Debra Cohen and her husband faced the unenviable chore of finding reliable home improvement contractors. Fed up with blindly picking names from the Yellow Pages and waiting for contractors who didn't show up, it occurred to Cohen that if she and her husband were having trouble finding contractors, other homeowners in their community must be facing a similar predicament. This bleak reality sparked the creation of a unique service that has since expanded into a profitable cottage industry across the U.S. and internationally.

Pay Day Loan, Payday Loan, Payday Loan Online - **** Niche

I generally try to stay away from the loans and mortgages niche, but pay day loans (or payday loans, if you prefer this spelling) has been quite good for me.

The payday loan industry is a very profitable but very risky industry. Essentially they provide a cash advance until the pay day, and these loans are very expensive. In fact, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has a special section devoted to payday loans. Here is what they say

The ads are on the radio, television, the Internet, even in the mail. They refer to payday loans - which come at a very high price.

Astonishing sales secrets I learned playing rock and roll in sleazy biker bars

I have played music in some of the sleaziest dives on the West Coast. I am not joking. I’ve had a lunatic cowboy launch a full can of Pabst at my head because he thought I was singing about him. (Remember “Third Rate Romance, Low Rent Rendezvous”?)

I once had to conk a drunk with my Telecaster as he assaulted my bass player. I’ve strummed and sung while dancers slugged each other, puked up tequila, tried to have sex, and took advantage of an overflowing bar sink to play Slip n’ Slide across the floor (breaking wrists and noses as they slammed into the far wall).

I got so good at playing in the middle of riots that, one night in a Virginia City basement bar, I caught a drunk with my right foot to keep him from falling into my mic stand, stood him up by putting my knee in his chest, and then drop-kicked him back into the crowd... all without missing a beat or botching a chord on my guitar while I sang the chorus of “Brown Sugar”.

As an African-American, Dr. Rick Kittles wanted to know who his ancestors were and their countries of origin. So the geneticist decided to create a database of African lineages.

After working on this database for several years, Kittles, 38, who holds a Ph.D. in molecular biology, joined forces with businesswoman Gina Paige, 38, to start a company that allows African-Americans to confidentially obtain information about their genealogy.

By using DNA technology, the company aids individuals in determining maternal or paternal ancestry. Customers go online (www.africanancestry.com) to order a $349 kit, use swabs to collect their cheek cells and then send their samples to the company via Express Mail. After the DNA is extracted from the swabs and sequenced, Kittles matches the sequence to his database of more than 25,000 African lineages and 389 ethnic groups.

Why 85 Percent of Businesses Fail

First is a thing called the attention span. There is NONE. It's very important for you to know that. Many years ago during a Super Bowl there was a big event that happened in television for those of us in marketing. It was the 15-second commercial instead of the 30-second commercial.

There are several reasons why this was done.

1. They could get more commercials in per hour than they could obviously before.

2. Although the 15-second spot will cost more per second than the 30-second spot does, the 15-second spot in dollars cost less than the 30-second spot so some advertisers who could not before afford television advertising now can afford television advertising, which makes the pool of perspective advertisers bigger.

Outsourcing, IT Outsourcing, Payroll outsourcing - *** Niche

Outsourcing is currently one of my favorite AdSense niches. The per-click average is below 50 cents, but if you get the right crowd, the CTR is excellent.

I’ll tell you a little secret. I’m thinking of creating an outsourcing portal, bringing together folks who outsource IT, programming, web design, help desk and other geeky stuff. Hey, if I get THAT MUCH from AdSense alone, I should get 10X, charging finder’s fee or a monthly membership. I know of a few folks who’ve traveled that path (actually started as outsourcers but than turned “outsource brokers”) who make six figures just bringing the two interested parties together.

PPC, Pay Per Click - *** to **** Niche

I know, it’s a bit ironic but PPC or Pay Per Click is a profitable niche to write about itself. PPC is a billion dollar industry lead by Google and Yahoo, but make no mistake, there are thousands of smaller PPC players, making a buck providing pay per click services to other companies.

The PPC niche can be divided into several broad segments. By far, the biggest one is PPC management. Many companies seek to outsource pay per click management, because they simply don’t have a specialist who can run a PPC campaign or it’s too expensive to hire one. This is where the money is.

Apple Computer's iPods are everywhere these days, and they're hungry. Just ask Catherine Keane, 24, who started her business, HungryPod, shortly after an acquaintance offered her $500 to load his CD collection onto his iPod. Keane took the offer and determined that with two more customers paying similar prices, she could launch a business for $1,500 - enough to buy a computer that could handle large volumes of data transfer.
