My name is Dmitri Davydov and I am an avid ‘niche collector’. Seriously, I love niches. I first got interested in AdSense niches couple years ago, when I accidentally found out that you can make either $0.02 or $2.42 per click. The difference? Topic of your article. Basically, I post off the wall articles on a variety of different topics (MBA preparation, veneer logs, dog training, transgender issues, car donations) and track how well they do with AdSense in terms of per click averages. And I make my observations available to you, free of charge. I also collect stories about unusual online and offline businesses that you can read. Finally, there is a marketing section at this website, where you can find various tricks that can quickly double or quadruple your revenue. In addition to that, you are free to contribute your own tips, ideas and articles to NicheGeek.Com.

How To Make 22 Million Dollars A Year From A Clubbing Website

In 1995, this oft-rejected newcomer to New York City's club scene found a way to get past the doorman of every hot club he longed to enter--start a website offering club-goers free club reviews and information. The now-savvy Fox recalls his earlier, awkward days: "I showed up at a club wearing green shorts, and everyone was in black. The bouncer looked at me and said, 'There's no way.'"

Working on the website in his off hours at first, Fox chucked his investment banking job in 1997 to give Clubplanet.com (then ClubNYC.com) his all. Volunteers provided early club reviews, until Fox hired a full-time editorial staff in 1999. Then he came up with a new idea: Start a guest list on his site for access to otherwise hard-to-get-into clubs. By offering a discounted cover charge to those who both signed up on the site and arrived at the club before midnight, Fox helped enhance the exclusivity of the clubs as well as increase revenue. Club owners were dubious about Fox's concept at first, but when hundreds of club-goers who signed up showed up at their doors, the owners gladly forged relationships with the innovator and paid him a "bounty" for every head he brought in.

Lessons From The Vice Squad, Part I

It’s no secret among top marketers that some of the smartest salesmen are con-artists. I do NOT suggest you get involved in any sort of unethical project... and, in fact, I hope you rot in hell if you do.

However... you cannot afford to ignore the outrageously-accurate knowledge of human behavior that is the stock and trade of the conman. (And I include politicians as well as multilevel marketers in this category.) The same charm tactics used by the cad to steal hearts can also be used by the nice guy to win his soul-mate. And the compelling sales pitch used to sell worthless junk will work just as well selling your honest-to- God hot stuff products.

Online Logo Creation

Sarah Hawley, a 10-year public-relations veteran, was moving from a job at a large agency to launch her own business, Mockingbird PR, out of her home in Gilbert, Ariz. She soon discovered that her experience bringing in clients wasn't enough. Appearances mattered too.

"Freelancing without a logo or Web site or identity really hurt me going up against agencies or even small boutique firms," she says. "If I went to pitch business to someone, I would give them my proposal. But if they wanted to check me out, there was no image to put in front of them. I had to do something to be more professional. I was committed, but I looked like someone just doing it on the side."

Car Donations - **** Niche

I’m telling you folks, the REAL profitable niches are A LOT DIFFERENT from what you see in so called “profitable keyword lists”. Forget credit cards, home loans, car insurance and other nonsense. The niches that pay out may appear very strange and unexpected.

Like car donations! Car donations? Yes, you heard me right – car donations. If you live outside US, this may not make very much sense to you, but people here donate their cars to charities and write this off as a tax break. Say, you have a total clunker that doesn’t run that you wanted to get rid of. You donate your car to charity and get a fat tax break for that year (the value of the car, which is often judged much higher than what the car you donated is really worth, had you tried to sell it).

4 Simple Promotional Ideas (Dan Kennedy)

This was a great example of how anyone can succeed in promoting their business by following these four simple ideas:

#1: Worry less about image than everybody else does.

#2: Write like you would talk - selling face-to-face, person-to-person.

#3: Be friendly, not stuffy

#4: Be courageous.

As a final comment on this subject, I'd like to encourage you to really work at putting together good direct marketing campaigns for your business. Don't just hastily throw something together or just wholesale copy an idea you got from these emails.

It takes time, effort, research and sweat to make direct marketing work. One friend of mine in the business forces himself to write at least fifty different possible headlines for the same ad before settling on the best one.

Geese Chasing Millionaire

David Marcks discovered a lucrative business opportunity when he used his dog to solve a problem that he constantly faced working at a golf course - the proliferation of geese. Geese love to inhabit open spaces that provide them with water and plenty of food (such as short, tender grasses). While adding a "natural look" to golf courses, no one would want to play in a golf course where the grass couldn't be seen under the cover of goose droppings. Imagine wading in the middle of goose droppings to hit a golf ball. Yikes!

Breathalyzers And Alcohol Tests - ***, sometimes **** Niche

I know what you are thinking. What? Breathalyzers? A great niche? It is indeed. And I did not know it either or wouldn’t have even known it, but I just happened to reprint an article written by a Colorado lawyer about how to avoid false breathalyzer results.

The next thing I see is a bunch of dollar clicks coming from that article (the average, as usual, was lower after a while). Baffled, I started to examine my logs and see what ads are being displayed and clicked. These weren’t DUI lawyers ads, as I originally suspected (a niche that is solidly occupied by MFAs anyway), but rather ads from breathalyzer manufacturers (like ACE Breathalyzer) and breathalyzer resellers.

LLC Formation, Incorporation - *** Niche

Forming a limited liability corporation or incorporating in Nevada or Delaware is getting to be a very popular. One reason is shielding yourself from lawsuits and other liabilities, and another one is the tax breaks corporations enjoy.

In the recent years, an entire industry of “order a corporation” has sprung up and there are literally hundreds of sites where you can order a Nevada or Delaware corporation online for 50 to 300 dollars. There are other states that incorporate, too. Wyoming corporations have been fairly popular recently, for example.

In short, this is a niche with hundreds of thousands prospects, thousands of companies and individual lawyers that provide this service and hundreds of advertisers bidding online for keywords. Which translates into a great AdSense niche, especially because the average sale price is fairly high (annual fees and other surcharges aren’t usually advertised, but they are there nevertheless).
